On December 5, 2025, the CEO of Aura Group held a strategic meeting with beekeepers from Buhumuza Province, Burundi, to discuss the creation of a recognized and regulated honey market.
Honey is one of Burundi’s valuable natural products. Although it is widely produced and sold at the local level, there is currently no officially known market dedicated to honey trading. As a result, many beekeepers are forced to sell their honey at very low prices due to the lack of regulation and fair competition in the sector.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the establishment of a formal honey market, aimed at ensuring that beekeepers receive returns that fairly reflect their effort and investment. The initiative also seeks to modernize beekeeping practices and promote sustainable development of the sector in Burundi.
